We Know Abductors Of Kagara Students And Staffs – IGP

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has reacted to the abduction of 27 students, 3 teachers, two non-teaching staff and 9 family members of the staff staying in the quarters of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State by bandits on Wednesday.

Adamu was among the Federal Government delegation to Niger State to review the abduction in Kagara.

The IGP while speaking on the incident which led to the death of a student in the school who was reportedly trying to escape noted that different strategies are being put in place to address the situation.

He further stated that all efforts are being put together to rescue the students and their teachers unharmed.

Adamu said, “We have restrategised. We are working to ensure that the students are returned unharmed. We are using the same strategy as we used in the past case but it won’t stop us from apprehending those who committed the act. We have deployed our units of mobile policemen to reinforce security in the state. The group that perpetrated the incident, we know the group and we will get the people back unharmed.”

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and the Niger State Government have reached out to the bandits who abducted students and staffs at the Government Science College Kagara, through a third party, Daily Trust reports.
