Nobody Goes Around Searching For Foreign Investors – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips, stating that Nigeria should focus on attracting rather than actively pursuing foreign investors.

“Nobody goes around searching for foreign investors. We need to attract them by creating favorable conditions,” Obi remarked during the ‘ParallelFact’ X-space.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu emphasized the significance of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), highlighting that Nigeria is engaging both foreign and domestic investors, aiming to promote confidence and accessibility for investments.

Tinubu highlighted achievements in securing deals like a $500 million collaboration with Germany for rural renewable energy and a $116 million French investment in the I-DICE program, aiming to create jobs and support startups.

He also highlighted his international engagements, including COP28 in Dubai and participation in summits and conferences aimed at boosting FDI in Nigeria.
