Taiwo Awoniyi Makes Premier League Team Of The Week

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was named in the official Premier League Team of the Week, compiled by legendary England striker Alan Shearer.

The Team of the Week was published on the Premier League’s Twitter page.

Awoniyi scored the lone goal for Nottingham Forest against Liverpool 1-0 and put out a brilliant display against his former side.

The 25-year-old gave Forest the lead in the 55th minute after smashing his effort into the roof of the net off his initial strike from a cross that came off the post.

It is Awoniyi’s third goal in 11 Premier League appearances for the newly promoted club.

Forest’s win against Liverpool is their second this season, but they remain bottom on nine points after 12 games.
