The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Jamb) has announced that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will include two new scientific disciplines.

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, revealed this on Saturday in Abuja.

Physical Health Education and Computer Science are the subjects.

“We are requesting and informing the public, particularly students who will be taking the exam, that these are two science disciplines that will be added to their choice in order to increase opportunities for candidates to access tertiary education,” Oloyede said.

The board would also eliminate the backlog of illicit admissions done by tertiary institutions in the country, according to the registrar.

He explained that the move was made to ensure that students who had been wrongfully accepted but met the minimum requirements were saved.

Universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other relevant institutions were recently found to have made 706,189 illicit admissions, according to JAMB.
