I Wanted To Show You It’s Not All About The Money – Aubameyang Slams Arsenal

Chelsea striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said that he decided to join Barcelona, the Blues or any other club in that matter just to show Arsenal fans that it was not all about the money.

Aubameyang admits he gave up his £250,000-a-week salary to join Barcelona in February 2022.

The Gabon international hit out at accusations from some Arsenal supporters who suggested he was only motivated by the wages.

Following his move to Chelsea, Aubameyang is reportedly on £160k-a-week after joining from Barcelona on transfer deadline day.

His fallout with the Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta meant that he was desperate to leave, and ended up joining Barcelona on a massive pay cut, with the former Borussia Dortmund striker making around 95,000 euros per week.

“I wanted to show them [Arsenal] because they thought this guy [only plays] because of the money,”

“But okay, let me go everywhere else I’ll show you, that’s no problem, I will show you.”

The Chelsea striker said, according to Metro.
