I Sold My Properties To Produce Jagun Jagun – Femi Adebayo Reveals
Femi Adebayo, a prominent Nigerian actor, has disclosed the financial approach he undertook to finance his most recent movie, ‘Jagun Jagun’.
Adebayo shared that he made the decision to sell some of his properties in order to produce ‘Jagun Jagun’.
During a recent interview, he revealed that the film, which premiered on Netflix on August 10, is a project of substantial value, amounting to billions of naira.
Adebayo further explained that he utilized the earnings from his previous film, ‘Agbeshinkole’, to fund the production of ‘Jagun Jagun’.
He also candidly mentioned that he encountered financial hurdles throughout the filmmaking process, which led him to sell his own properties to ensure the successful completion of the project.
“Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion-naira project and I cannot say the exact amount I spent on shooting it,” he said.
“I used the proceeds of Agbeshinkole to produce Jagun Jagun. I was working on not getting funded by finance houses and individuals.
“At a point, I was out of finance and because I had faith that the project would work, I sold my properties.”
The actor has been featured in several Nollywood movies including ‘Owo Blow’, ‘Apaadi’, ‘Ayitale’, ‘Makalik’ and ‘Survival of Jelili’.
In 2022, Adebayo’s movie ‘King of Thieves’ (Agesinkole) generated over N170 million in the first three weeks of its cinema debut.
He is the son of Adebayo Salami, a veteran actor popularly known as Oga Bello.
On his 70th birthday in 2022, Oga Bello was gifted an SUV by his children.
