In these extraordinary times, where great records are dropping almost everyday, it’s not OK to say you haven’t heard ‘TeeDott’. He has been in the music scene actively for more than 5 years and has released many singles under GME Records; from Fly, why, See, Baby Mama, Pongillah and many more.

Today, we have Teedott, a Nigerian Afro Pop/RnB Sensation Artist who also doubles up as a music producer. To start with, how do you come about your stage name?

TeeDott: I’m a twin. I lost my second already and “ TEE “ stand for Taiwo while DOTT “ stands for Kenny (In memory of Kehinde)

Our sincere condolences. what’s your Government name and what part of Nigeria are you from?

TeeDott: Taiwo Michael Philip | From Lekki, Lagos

What are the major limitations you think has hindered you from achieving your goals as a recording artiste?

TeeDott: Well, the major challenges are lack of finance, lack of Investors and we run a state where our government are not fully supporting the music industry. I recall that the Jonathan administration gave some amount of money to support the movie industry, leaving music behind like we should strive on our own. That’s unfair!

Does competition motivate you or you just do your thing?

TeeDott: I don’t compete with anyone, I look away and mind my business. I just do me

Pongilah is your recent drop under GME RECORDS. What is Pongilah?

TeeDott: Well, the song “ PONGILAH “ speaks of a guy who hail from grass to grace and no one knows how he comes about to make but also like to party, always in love with anything in stick; call it stick chicken , stick sweet and the likes, he’s always there.

Wow!!! Sitting you down here shedding a whole different light to the meaning of PONGILAH. Dont you think the art cover says differently about the song itself?

TeeDott: Well “ that’s just a cover. My creative designer was expressing my sound through the art. Lick a stick sweet and mind your business (That’s basically the story of the guy). The girl in the picture stand for “ GUY “ the hooker and sm0kes speaks for the lavish life and the sweet in the mouth stand for the stick sweet. Trust me, If you can follow up with the lyrics, you would understand what the story of PONGILAH is all about 😉😉

When did you realise that Music is the thing for you?

TeeDott: I discovered from my childhood, after I lost my dad then I started drumming in the church and backing up songs back then.

Having to play an instrument, says a lot about you. What other instrument do you play?

TeeDott: Quite agreed but i’ve not been having enough time to follow up on my classes but i’m currently trying my hands on Bass Guitar and Piano. But not enough time to even practice …you know how it is.

What church do you attend?

TeeDott: White garment “ The Celestial Church of Christ “

Which other celestial artist like you that are big would you like to work with soonest?

TeeDott: Don Jazzy

If music stopped today ,what will you be doing as a profession?

TeeDott: Business Fam ….laugh!!! I will choose the business and taking chill soda to mind my business as well 😂😂

Who is your mentor?

TeeDott: God is my mentor

We have seen different off the scene rehearsals were artistes take substance to get motivated, what’s your ginger?

TeeDott: Chill bottle water and Tom Tom

Any children,wife,e.t.c …or babymama drama?

TeeDott: Praying for better ones …no kids, no drama, no wifey for now!

If you can, today’s music what would you change?

TeeDott: Well if I had the chance I will change the views of our elders to let them understand there is no crime in choosing music

Heard a couple of your tracks and I must say, we are impressed with your tunes and the producers are off the hook but don’t you think you need to up your game a little bit more cos we need more from you in the industry.

TeeDott: I’m working hard on new tunes. And one of my major plan is to work with top-notch producers who can give me today’s blend and with my voice, i know we are k!lling tunes.

You have over 21.7K fans on your IG page. When did you realise you have real audience apart from numbers?

TeeDott: Right now I don’t think I still have the real till I hit on millions

So, do you have any body of works before or any plan to drop one soon?

TeeDott: Yea …watch out for #up and #lady and also i’ve got ‘Lady’ coming out soon featuring Jaywon.

So what’s the plan for this year that’s running out so quick?

TeeDott: Planning on EP, that’s if our governments going to really reliefs the pressures in the economics

We have heard your songs on radio many times, DJs and OAPs seems to be showing you so much love both on the mainland and Island. But not much of your videos out there. Whats your plan to get your face more out there?

TeeDott: Working on couple videos as well and is going to be dropping soon
