Fani-Kayode Roasts Saraki For Asking Jonathan Not To Leave PDP

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has tackled Bukola Saraki for appealing to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan not to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Recall that Saraki had led members of the PDP Reconciliation and Strategy Committee to the home of the former president.

Speaking after the meeting Saraki, a former Senate President, said: “Jonathan gave us his views and we are very happy. He reassured all of us of his commitment to the PDP and he told us that he is still ready to offer his time, experience and resources to strengthen the party.

“That is very strong and important for us. Of course, you know there are funny issues going on but we are leaving this place very happy.”

The former Kwara governor also dismissed reports that Jonathan was plotting to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that the former Bayelsa governor remains a PDP man.

But in a post on Thursday on his Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode accused Saraki of costing Jonathan his presidency in 2015.

He claimed Saraki led the rebellion and defection of Governors to the now ruling APC.

“Interesting to note that the man that led the team to GEJ’s house to appeal to him not to leave the PDP yesterday is the same man that led the rebellion against him & the defection of Governors from the same party in 2014 & cost him the 2015 presidential election. What an irony!” Fani-Kayode said.

Saraki, Rotimi Amaechi and other governors had dumped the PDP for the newly formed APC to work against the re-election of Jonathan in 2015.
