Drivers Die As Trucks Collide On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Two persons were presumed dead, while another was rescued, on Wednesday, when two trucks collided in the OG0n State axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The incident reportedly occurred at Lenuwa, at about 10.25a.m., inbound Lagos.

One of the trucks had number plates WDE 79 XB. The other was laden with granite. According to an eyewitness, both trucks were inbound Lagos.

It was learned that one of the trucks was trying to make a detour to the right when the granite-laden one rammed it on the driver’s side.

The impact of the accident was said to have affected both truck drivers, who reportedly died on the spot.

However, the conductor of the granite-laden truck was said to have survived the crash.

Vanguard gathered that the bodies have been deposited at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital morgue by rescue agencies.

Also, the accidented trucks have been handed over to Sagamu Police Command.

The incident was said to have affected free flow of traffic in the area, but was cleared by men of OG0n State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Police.

The Corps warned motorists to desist from speeding and ensure their vehicles are well maintained to prevent avoidable accidents.
