Burna Boy Apologizes To Fans, Gives Reason For Lagos Concert Lateness
Nigerian iconic singer, songwriter, and performer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has issued an apology to his fans, stating why his Lagos headline concert turned out sour.
The African colossus headlined his first concert for 2023 in Lagos, but things didn’t go as planned. The 2022 was mind-blowing, with the artist selling out legendary locations like Madison Square Garden, State Farm Arena, and a myriad of other venues throughout the world.
African Giant was supposed to take the stage at the event by 6 p.m. Nigerian time on January 1, 2022, but it hadn’t happened as of 3 a.m. Nigerian time on January 2, 2022, which infuriated a lot of the spectators.
Contrary to common belief, the singer and his band came early for the performance, but they were unable to perform in time owing to the organizer’s failure to set up the correct sound equipment. The artist apologized to his fans in an event update on January 2, 2023.
The musician, who was born in Port Harcourt, added that he was trying to attract investors to the Nigerian music sector in order to deal with the persistent problem of poor event organization and execution.
