Arsene Wenger Speaks ON Man City Being Relegated From The Premier League
Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has said that he was surprised by the Premier League’s decision to charge Manchester City.
The Premier League had last week announced over 100 charges against Manchester for allegedly breaking financial fair play rules.
Wenger, who spent over 20 years at the Premier League, believes there is only a small chance of Manchester City being relegated or stripped of titles if found guilty.
The Premier League hit City with 115 charges relating to FFP breaches dating back to 2009 but the club have strongly denied any wrongdoing.
Wenger, who once berated Manchester City and Chelsea over their spendings in bringing in new players and even pricing away some of Arsenal’s best legs during his time at the Emirates Stadium, was asked if he felt there was a chance City could lose their Premier League status.
Wenger told beIN Sport,
“Very small one. I think so.
“I believe at the moment I know quite well Khaldoon (Al Mubarak) and I think he’s an intelligent man and an honest man so I was quite surprised by the charges they face so let’s see the outcome.
“If they are guilty, then they will face penalties. I don’t know what they will be.”
