American Rapper Kanye West Is No Longer A Billionaire

Kanye West loses Billionaire status after Adidas terminates their deal with him.

Of West’s estimated $2 billion fortune, a whopping $1.5 billion was attributable to his partnership with Adidas. The loss of the deal effectively erases that massive chunk of his net worth. He now worth $400 million only.

Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, has been attracting n3gative attention and mounting calls for companies to cut ties with him following several weeks of troubling statements against the Jewish community.

In one of the tweets that led to Twitter restricting his account two weeks ago, Kanye West wrote,

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up, I’ll go d3@th con 3 on J3wish People.”

Kanye later clarified that he meant to say Defcon 3 in the tweet. Defence readiness condition (Defcon) is an alert system used by the US military, with five levels of readiness, with level one being the highest. Defcon level 3 refers to “Increase in force readiness above normal readiness.”

During an interview with Piers Morgan, West was asked if he regretted his “death con 3” tweet to which the rapper replied, “No. Absolutely not.”

Later in the interview, he however apologised for the fact that he had hurt people and caused “confusion”.

All these happened because Kanye made a comment against the Jewish people.

A lesson to us all. When we’re at the top, we must be careful of our actions & words.
