England Striker Harry Kane Is A Selfish Player

Premier League legend, Graeme Souness, has slammed England striker, Harry Kane, describing him as a selfish player.

This was after the Three Lions played out a 1-1 draw with the USA in the World Cup on Friday.

England made a perfect start to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, smashing Iran 6-2 but were less impressive in their second game in Group B as they were held to a goalless draw by the USA.

Souness, a former Liverpool man, said the Tottenham striker’s desire, is to surpass Wayne Rooney as the national team’s all-time record goalscorer.

He said, for this reason, the Premier League goal machine decided not to leave the pitch during the Three Lions’ first game against Iran.Souness lamented that Kane’s selfishness could have ‘come back to bite the team.

“My view is that Harry Kane was selfish against Iran on Monday[against Iran] – staying on the field for 27 minutes after suffering an ankle injury, even though England were 3-0 up,” Souness told the Daily Mail.

“Harry would have wanted to play on for 27 minutes because he saw goals in the game. He has that selfish streak.”

Harry Kane, who came to Qatar as the second-highest goal scorer in the English Premier League, is yet to find the net after two group games.

Harry Kane could not find the back of the net in their first World Cup game despite England beating Iran 6-2.
