Atalanta Boss Praises Nigeria Striker Ademola Lookman
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini praised Ademola Lookman after the Nigerian helped the Serie A club beat Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon in their UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Gasperini’s side recorded a 2-1 win against their hosts, with academy products Giorgio Scalvini and Matteo Ruggeri getting the goals.
Lookman was at his best in the game, creating problems for Sporting Lisbon’s defenders.
The experienced tactician was full of praise for the Nigerian winger after the game.
“Lookman had perhaps his best performance of the season and also one of the best for Atalanta. He created many dangerous situations and is improving, but I don’t know if he will be able to replicate last year’s goal tally,” Gasperini was quoted by Sky Sports Italia.
Atalanta now top their group with a 100 per cent record with six points from two games.
They are followed by Sporting and Sturm Graz on three points, while champions of Poland Rakow still have zero points and goals scored.
