Nigeria El!minated In Quarter Final By Korea
The 2023 U-20 World Cup in Argentina will not include Nigeria.
On Sunday, Korea defeated the Flying Eagles 1-0 in the quarterfinal round.
South Korea advanced to the semifinals thanks to Choi Seok-Hyun’s extra-time header in the 94th minute.
The Flying Eagles entered the match fresh off a surprising 2-0 victory over the hosts Argentina in the round of 16.
Ecuador was eliminated by South Korean side South Korea 3-2 in the opening round.
Similar to the U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007, Ladan Bosso was unable to advance the Flying Eagles past the quarterfinals.
As a result of the Flying Eagles’ defeat, all four of Africa’s representatives—Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, and Gambia—have lost.
