University Of Abuja Partners South Korea On Technology, Research

The University of Abuja says it is set to partner with South Korea in the areas of research and technology, including an exchange of students and members of taff.
The Acting Director, University of Abuja Centre for Asian Studies, Dr. Amos DlibuG0naya, stated this at a Korean Supporters’ and Alumni Inauguration Day held at the Korean Cultural Centre in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

DlibuG0naya said the Asian country had sponsored some of the university lecturers to study in its universities, some of whom had become professors, adding that such partnership would engender mutual growth and development.

He said, “We want to collaborate with the Korean centre in the areas of research, organising conferences and exchange of staff members. We want to collaborate in the areas of research.

“We already have some employees of the university on sabbatical to some universities in Korea. This is very important to us. We have always been collaborating with the centre.

“We want to organise international conferences and seminars where our students and staff will benefit in large measures. Both centres can also organise cultural days in which we can exhibit the Korean culture especially in origin, language, dressing, food and make-up.

“We can also arrange a joint research in the areas of technology as the Korean state is known for its vast technological and economic advancement. This will further enhance mutual growth.”

The event, which had many secondary and tertiary students in attendance, witnessed performances by the Korean musical band as well as an exhibition of the Korean food and dresses.
