Skales – I Love Rap But It Never Paid My Bills

Singer, Skales has revealed the reason he switched from rapping to singing. The singer stated that he now sings because rapping never paid his bills.
Skales made this jarring revelation in a tweet that has since sparked a social media conversation. In the tweet, Skales wrote “I love rap but it never paid my bills.”
Recall that in the early stages of his career, Skales was considered a Hip-hop act with impressive rap materials like Heading For A Grammy and his Jimmy Jump Off freestyle. However, along the line Skales switched his style of music such that he started to do more singing. It was said that his decision was influenced by his label at that time, EME, that wanted him to use the approach of another artiste under the label (Wizkid) who was flourishing, to shine.
Skales’ recent tweet is an admission to the fact that he switched his sound from rap to singing and the reason he gave is the same reason other rappers-turned-singers in the industry have given in the past.
