New Chelsea Boss Graham Potter Recalls His Best Memories With Former Club Brighton

New Chelsea boss, Graham Potter, has recalled some great moments that were possible under him at Brighton & Hove Albion.

In an emotional farewell message to the fans on Sunday, the Englishman recalled some huge victories he recorded at the club

Potter was announced as the next boss at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, a few hours after the shocking sack of Thomas Tuchel.

He recalled some stand-out and brilliant moments he shared with the fans at the club, including their 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in his first season and the 2-1 win over Arsenal after the Covid lockdown.

“When the stadiums were partially-opened we experienced an incredible atmosphere for the 3-2 win over Manchester City in the final home game of the 2020/21 season,” he said in an open letter to his former club.

“I know many of you enjoyed the 4-0 win over Manchester United last season. We finished that season with a 3-1 win over West Ham on the final day to seal a record points tally for the club and a highest-ever league position. These are great memories.”

Brighton thrashed Leicester City 5-2 in the Premier League last Sunday, and it turned out to be Potter’s last match at the club.

“I did not know at the time that it would be the end, but looking back now we played so well,” he added.

The manager, unveiled at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, pointed out that Brighton are full of positivity, adding that the last days happened unexpectedly.
