It was announced on social media recently that FCMB scholarship is available for the 2018/2019. It has also been said that all those undergraduate Nigerian students who are eligible by all criteria and are invited to participate in the application and strive for the main prize. Check out the information below to discover whether it’s true or not.

WHAT WAS THE ANNOUNCED FCMB SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNDERGRADUATES?
FCMB (which is the abbreviation for First City Monument Bank), Nigeria, was said to be ready to give N200,000 (two hundred thousand) as scholarship. The target group of this scholarship were allegedly Nigerian undergraduate students who are now studying full-time.

The requirements were simple as for practically any other possible scholarships that are available for students. One needs to be Nigerian, study at your first or second year, full-time, at one of the disciplines listed below, and so on. Of course, all those who want to receive the scholarship need to be in some way talented, gifted and should possess a special charm to attract the hearts of the organizers.

The choice of the university was said to mean nothing. They invited students from Agriculture, Veterinary and Human Medicine and Medical Science, Arts, Education and other Humanities, Sciences, including Management and Social Sciences, Engineering, IT and Communication, and Law.

There were no other special requirements or criteria to match to have bigger chances of receiving the dreamed-of money. It was only said that one should apply and wait for the lucky chance.

HOW YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR FCMB SCHOLARSHIP

The application process was quite simple. You needed to collect scanned copies of certain documents and send them to the official email of the scholarship providers. The documents are as follows:

One recent picture of a passport format taken against the white or red background
Your ID card issued by your school
The admission letter
The certificate of birth
Your O’Level results
Your JAMB/UTME results
It was said that the only thing to do to apply for the scholarship was sending the documents to the email provided together with the news. This was the entire application process and nothing else was demanded. Seemed quite attractive and simple, especially when the matter is about N200,000.

However, some time after the news has appeared, there was a notification saying quite opposite things. The notification said that the bank was not even thinking of giving out N200,000 in the form of any scholarships.

The bank officially informed everyone online that the scheme spread around social media and news was fraudulent and dangerous for individuals. The bank has also asked people to distribute their notification in order to prevent disasters. In fact, rendering their personal information to $c@mmers, many people could have brought themselves into serious troubles.

So, if you are interested in scholarships, check all the details before you start the application and render your personal information. Get in touch with the organizers of the scholarship and find out whether it’s for real and only when you know everything for sure, take steps towards the goal.
