Election Process Not Free, Fair; PDP Should Join LP – Rhodes Vivour

The Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos Sate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has urged his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran (Jandor), to collapse his structure into LP so they can jointly ‘save’ Lagos.

Rhodes-Vivour who stated this during an interview with Politics Hub, a Vanguard online television show, on Tuesday, disclosed that he was in the PDP for six years and knows that he needs as much people as possible working with him.

He further expressed hope that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would conduct a transparent election, come March 18.

He said:

“I have a relationship with the PDP. I came from the PDP. I was in the PDP for six years. I was the senatorial candidate for PDP in 2019.

“I had the most votes in the party. I know the leaders in the party. We understand that at a practical level, we need to have as many people working together, especially because this election process is not free and fair.

“They promised us electronic transmission of votes, that did not happen. We saw the intimidation and h@ra$sment, and manipul@tions at the ward collation, LG collation.

“So we need everybody to work together to save and rescue Lagos. We are in talks with several parties.

“A few parties have coll@psed their structures for us. I expect that the PDP would do the same very soon.

“On the other hand; we know that a lot of these people might be compromised. Just like the last election, it was very sh@meful, to say the least.

“So we are hoping for the best but we are prepared for the wor$t, and we are moving into this election with the idea that what happened previously will repeat itself again. So we are ready for any outcome.”

Speaking further, the 40-year-old also berated the incumbent Governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for 3vading public debates, saying it is ‘disresp3ctful’ of a governor who ‘owes it to the people’ to ‘account for his stewardship’.
