De Jong Decides On Manchester United Deal For This Summer

Dutch professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong, has reportedly agreed on personal terms to join Manchester United this summer.

The 25-year-old according to reports has agreed to play for the Red Devils starting this 2022/2023 Premier League season despite the club refusing to qualify for the next UEFA Champions League.

Naijaloaded understands that De Jong’s initial plan was to remain at Barcelona.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is, however, interested in signing the Netherlands international which has now given a green light.

Barcelona already had made it open that the 25-year-old is leaving the club, this is as the club currently suffers extreme financial issues and is ready to cash in on one of its prized assets.

Reports on Friday affirmed that De Jong has privately admitted he is ready to join the Premier League side after initial doubts.

Naijaloaded understands that his representatives had hoped for offers from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, or Manchester City, but those clubs have been deterred by Barcelona’s valuation.

Man United is now looking to agree to a fee with Barcelona for De Jong’s signature. Speculations are that Barcelona could demand €60million plus €20million in add-ons from Man United for De Jong.
