1st Ever Press Conference With Management Organised By TASUEDSU PRO

The office of the Students’ Union Public Relations Officer of Tai Solarin University of Education IjaG0n, Ijebu-Ode, OG0n State organized the First Ever Press Conference on campus tagged: MEET THE VICE CHANCELLOR, Thursday 31st of May, 2018 at TETFUND Hall.

The programmme started exactly 10:00am and it was anchored by Sen. Adeboun Olamide with the National Anthem and Aluta Gyration. While the programmme was ongoing the Vice Chancellor of the premier and most preferred university of education.

Prof. Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu arrived at exactly 10:01am with other University Management and members of Staff.
The anchor of the programme introduced the University management and moved to discussion (interactive session) proper which was the business of the day. Along the line, the University PRO.

(Mr Nurein Bakenne) anchored the discussion (interactive session) which was started with the members of the Press present.

The questions go thus:

Press:- What can you say Sir to the clamouring of students concerning the upgrading of general results?

Vice Chancellor:- “Results will not be upgraded anymore because our students need to be outstanding and recognized, it’s for the benefit of our students “.

He also said that the use of CBT is to make sure that the results are released on time and C.A test will also be conducted in general classes, so as to get attendance of the students present in class and lastly he said that mass failure in general courses is as a result of lackadaisical attitude towards reading, lack of preparation, etc.

Press:- How will the school improve on the provision of social amenities for students on campus?

Vice Chancellor:- The delay in tuition fee doesn’t help the management of the school to plan ahead and the students are not aware of certain things that has been done but looking at those things that are either in the process or yet to happen.

Student:- Why is it that the University Management spend money on beautifying but left adequate electricity?

Vice Chancellor:- Students need to understand that the flowers and other things on our campus signifies how beautiful and neat our university environment is and we are working on the stability of electricity on our campus.

Student:- Sir, there is a rumor that the students union election will be conducted via E-Voting, will there be no chance of h@cking…?

Vice Chancellor:- Well, it’s your choice not mine either you choose E-voting or Ballot…

Student:- Why is it that our result is been delayed before uploading?

Vice Chancellor:- There will be a specific time for the provision of result.

Student:- Why is our E-test result not been uploaded?

Vice Chancellor:- This issue had already been agreed upon, henceforth E-test result will be released instantly before the commencement of E-exams.

Student:- Sir, some of our lecturers are not coming to lecture room, please Sir help us on this.

Vice Chancellor:- I will look into the matter and if such things happen again try and inform the Management and if you can’t reach the Management send your complain to the Students’ Union. And also you students should be available for lectures, have heard that you students don’t go for general classes again. Hence, lecturers will now be conducting Test in General Classes, attendance will now been taking in General Classes, if a student can’t meet up at least 70% attendance such student will not be able to log in for E-Exam.

Student:- Sir, Is it true that the College of Vocational and Technology Education (COVTED) will be moving down to Ososa campus. If Yes, Why?

Vice Chancellor:- Yes! COVTED will be moving down to Ososa campus due to inadequate of lecture rooms in IjaG0n campus. In case you don’t know there is a building that has been built which was donated to the school for the past years at Ososa and those classrooms were un-used.

Student:- Can our tuition fees be split into two?

Vice Chancellor:- No!

Student:- Sir, we heard that the pass mark for 100level students is now 40?

Vice Chancellor:- The pass mark for all students still remains 45

Student:- Sir, why is it that school identity card is been delayed by the bank?

Vice Chancellor:- Well, it is not the fault of the management but the fault of the bank who refused to bring the I.D card on time. Hence, the Students Identity Card will now be produced by the Student Affairs department.

Student:- Sir, why can’t we have a provision of 24hours reading in the library?

Vice Chancellor:- that can’t be possible for now because of inadequate power supply but the closing hour can only be extended during the examination period.

Student:- Why is that the certificate for Vocational Studies is not been released on time?

Vice Chancellor By God’s grace the Vocational Studies certificate will be released soon.
The Vice Chancellor ends the Press Conference by appreciating the Students’ Union for creating the avenue of interaction with the students and He promises the students on some issues:

TASUED Radio Station will be available soon.
5 new Public Address System (PAS) will be available on Monday (4/6/18) to all colleges.
A platform will be created for students to log-in complains.

In some weeks, additional furniture will be filled up to some lecture rooms.

The Students’ Union Public Relations Officer, Penpusher Taofeek Aishat ended the programme by appreciating the presence of the University management, members of staff and entire TASUEDITES at large.
