The Joint UN Program on HIV and AIDS has delegated spouse of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, as UNAIDS Special Ambassador for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and Promotion of Treatment for Children living with HIV in Nigeria.

Mrs Buhari’s arrangement was passed on in an announcement issued on Saturday by the Communications and Global Outreach Officer, UNAIDS Nigeria, Mr. Charles-Martin Jjuuko, in Abuja.

As per him, Executive Director and Under Secretary General of the United Nations, Michel Sidibé, will issue the official arrangement to Aisha Buhari on Monday, March 19, in Abuja.

Jjuuko said Aisha’s arrangement was in acknowledgment of her energy in the backing for the privileges of defenseless ladies and young ladies in the nation.

Jjuuko, in any case, noticed that in her new part, Aisha will advocate expanded access to antenatal care administrations, HIV testing for every single pregnant lady and first experience with satisfactory care.
